Business Intelligence Data Mesh
2021–2023
At Peek & Cloppenburg, we built an entirely new foundation for the business intelligence infrastructure on Google Cloud and BigQuery. A team of 8 — data engineers, analytics engineers, and analysts — was guided to build and refactor a data mesh data warehouse serving more than 6 departments with over 300 internal users. The entire cloud infrastructure was realised with Terraform as infrastructure as code, fully automated and configurable from the organisation level down to individual resources. In addition, over 100 hours of training were delivered for data engineers and cloud engineers.
